Important sizing note for Shore-Line® cages

Shore-Line cage sizes (e.g., “24-inch cage”) refer to the external cage dimension. The internal usable width is smaller due to wall thickness.

For example, a 24″ Shore-Line cage has an interior width of approximately 22″.

Tailwind cots are sized to match the interior wall-to-wall measurement, not the cage’s advertised exterior size. Please measure the inside width of your cage to select the correct cot size.

Recovery Cot vs. current approach

A look at how the Recovery Cot helps deliver more consistent warmth around the patient during post-operative recovery — compared to the setups many clinics still rely on today.

Our Solution

A more integrated recovery warming surface

  • Open and close the cage door without obstruction
  • Better warming with consistent airflow around the patient
  • Orthopedic support with no pressure points
  • Reduces laundry time and cost
  • No constant patient repositioning to maintain warmth
Typical warming setup currently used in the industry, showing a less integrated approach inside the recovery enclosure
Common Challenges Today

What much of the industry still relies on

  • Warming blankets obstruct cage door access, requiring improvised rigging to work around
  • Warming bags collapse under the patient, creating cold spots
  • Limited support may create pressure points
  • Laundry increases labor and cost
  • Patients may need repeated repositioning to maintain warmth

Kennel sizing & compatibility

Designed to fit the most common cage sizes — 24", 30", 36", 42", and 48" — the Recovery Cot integrates seamlessly into existing clinic setups and may also fit other kennel brands with comparable internal dimensions. Confirm your kennel's internal width before ordering.

Forced-air warming unit and hose sold separately

Cold recovery surfaces allow body heat to dissipate quickly — especially in anesthetized or sedated patients. During the critical post-operative window, maintaining patient normothermia can become a staff-intensive challenge without the right recovery surface.

By elevating patients off cold cage floors and allowing gentle airflow beneath the body, the Recovery Cot supports more consistent thermal management and helps maintain normothermia during recovery.

The Recovery Cot brings active warmth to the recovery cage using your existing forced-air system. Temperature-controlled air is routed through a ducted cot platform, where it helps push gentle warm airflow upward through the fabric support surface and around the patient.

Because the hose connections stay outside the enclosure, the kennel interior remains clearer and more practical for patient care. When the kennel door is closed, airflow reconnects to create a more stable warming environment during recovery.

Bair Hugger®
Vet BedJet®
VetPro

No new equipment required. The Recovery Cot is designed to integrate with the forced-air warming systems already in your facility. Confirm compatibility with your specific hose output before ordering. Warming unit and hose are not included.

Convective Patient Warming

Provides controlled, uniform convective warming across the entire patient support surface at clinically appropriate post-operative temperatures, surrounding the patient with consistent warmth to promote stable thermoregulation and reduce the risk of peri-anesthetic hypothermia without localized overheating.

Hospital Grade Fabric

Our cot surface is constructed from Textilene® 80, a PVC-coated, 1000-denier polyester mesh engineered for healthcare and high-use environments. It is antimicrobial, GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions, flame-resistant, and designed to withstand repeated cleaning and disinfection while maintaining strength and airflow.
