Important sizing note for Shore-Line® cages

Shore-Line cage sizes (e.g., “24-inch cage”) refer to the external cage dimension. The internal usable width is smaller due to wall thickness.

For example, a 24″ Shore-Line cage has an interior width of approximately 22″.

Tailwind cots are sized to match the interior wall-to-wall measurement, not the cage’s advertised exterior size. Please measure the inside width of your cage to select the correct cot size.

A cleaner, more consistent way to support warmth in recovery

A practical look at how the Recovery Cot helps clinics create a more repeatable recovery warming setup compared with common towel, blanket, and hose workarounds.

A more repeatable recovery warming setup

  • Supports cage access during recovery warming
  • Routes compatible forced-air warming through an elevated cot platform
  • Helps keep the patient off cold cage floors
  • May reduce reliance on stacked towels during recovery
  • Helps reduce towel, blanket, and hose adjustments during monitored recovery
Typical warming setup currently used in a recovery enclosure Common challenges

Common workflow challenges today

  • Towels, blankets, and hoses can interfere with cage access

  • Blankets and warming bags can bunch, collapse, or shift under the patient

  • Cold cage floors can pull heat away from recovering patients

  • Laundry volume can increase staff workload and operating cost

  • Staff may need to adjust towels, blankets, or hose placement throughout recovery

Active warming support during monitored recovery.

Cleaner cage setup with warming hardware kept out of the patient’s immediate space.

Compatible with Bair Hugger®, Vet BedJet®, and VetPro forced-air warming systems.

Designed to fit common veterinary cage widths.

Designed for common kennel widths

Designed to fit the most common cage sizes, the Recovery Cot integrates into existing clinic setups and may also fit other kennel brands with comparable internal dimensions.

Designed to support clinical recovery workflows

Cold recovery surfaces can pull heat away from anesthetized or sedated patients during the post-operative period. The Recovery Cot is designed to elevate the patient off the cage floor while routing compatible forced-air warming through the cot platform.

It is intended to support monitored recovery workflows, not replace temperature monitoring or clinic warming protocols.

How it works

The Recovery Cot connects to compatible forced-air warming systems already used in many veterinary facilities. Warm air is routed through the cot platform to support airflow around the patient during recovery.

The setup is designed to make recovery warming more repeatable for staff while preserving practical cage access during patient monitoring.

Warming system compatibility
Bair Hugger® Vet BedJet® VetPro

The Recovery Cot is designed to integrate with compatible forced-air warming systems already in your facility, including Bair Hugger®, Vet BedJet®, and VetPro systems. Confirm compatibility with your specific hose output before ordering. Forced-air warming unit and hose are not included.

Cleaning & between-patient use

The Recovery Cot is designed for wipe-down recovery cage workflows. Between patients, clean according to your clinic’s disinfectant protocol and inspect the cot surface, airflow area, and connection points before reuse.

For current material care guidance, request the Recovery Cot cleaning guide before implementation.

Clinical use & monitoring

The Recovery Cot is not a patient monitor or standalone heat source. Use only with compatible forced-air warming systems according to the warming unit manufacturer’s instructions.

Continue patient temperature monitoring and recovery assessment according to your clinic’s anesthesia and post-operative protocols.

Convective Patient Warming

Provides controlled, uniform convective warming across the entire patient support surface at clinically appropriate post-operative temperatures, surrounding the patient with consistent warmth to promote stable thermoregulation and reduce the risk of peri-anesthetic hypothermia without localized overheating.

Hospital Grade Fabric

Our cot surface is constructed from Textilene® 80, a PVC-coated, 1000-denier polyester mesh engineered for healthcare and high-use environments. It is antimicrobial, GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions, flame-resistant, and designed to withstand repeated cleaning and disinfection while maintaining strength and airflow.
